Discover how to transform your college into an esports hub with our comprehensive webinar tailored for educators and administrators. This session guides you through the essential steps of launching and sustaining a successful esports program. Learn how to attract students and foster a vibrant gaming community—all through the "vessel" of esports.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the basic elements of the esports industry, including the esports ecosystem, popular esports titles, and the growing interest among students.
  • Evaluate ways to build an academic program connected to esports.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other institutions, esports organizations, and industry leaders.

Note: Webinars are free for individuals at NISOD member colleges.

 

Certificate and CEUs for Webinars

Learners will have the option to earn a certificate of attendance or a certificate with Continuing Education Units (CEU) upon completion of the webinar. To earn a certificate with CEUs, the learner must successfully pass the learning assessment with a score of 80% or higher. All learners must complete the post-event evaluation to earn credentials. 

The duration of this webinar is one hour, which is equal to 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Associate Dean of Educational Programming and External Relations

Camden County College


David Bruno is currently Associate Dean, Educational Programming and External Relations, at Camden County College. In this role, Mr. Bruno serves as the Director of the William G Rohrer Center in Cherry Hill, oversees Cougar Esports, serves as the director of the Arts at Camden County College initiative, co-Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, the professional development wing at Camden County College, and the Executive Director for the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission.  Mr. Bruno has over 20 years of experience in higher education, including 15 years as full-time faculty in the English as a Second Language Department, eight years as chairperson of the department, and seven years serving in a dean level at Camden County College.  David Bruno created, launched and has overseen the growth of the esports programming at Camden County College, with the primary focus of the esports programming always being centered on academics and the pathways to the workforce.  Camden County College is home to the Cougar Esports brand with three pillars of focus: intercollegiate competition, academics, and an esports arena experience.  David Bruno is currently serving on the "Advisory Committee" advisory board for the NJCAAE, and he is the project lead on the NJ Council on Community Colleges “NJ Pathways to Career Opportunities” project for Esports Production and Content Creation.
