With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) writing programs, such as ChatGPT, educators, students, and administrators face both opportunities and challenges. While these tools offer enhanced writing capabilities and learning experiences, they also pose potential risks when misused. This presentation will offer a comprehensive look into the capabilities of AI writing tools, their projected trajectory in education, and recommendations for drafting rules and policies to regulate their use effectively.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of AI writing tools like ChatGPT, and how they can enhance or detract from educational outcomes.
  • Explore the ethical considerations and potential risks associated with the integration of artificial intelligence in educational settings.
  • Identify strategies for drafting effective rules and policies to govern the use of AI writing programs, ensuring they promote integrity and support learning objectives.

Certificate and CEUs for Webinars

Learners will have the option to earn a certificate of attendance or a certificate with Continuing Education Units (CEU) upon completion of the webinar. To earn a certificate with CEUs, the learner must successfully pass the learning assessment with a score of 80% or higher. All learners must complete the post-event evaluation to earn credentials. 

The duration of this webinar is one hour, which is equal to 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
